The Ploy is an Australian and United States based talk show featuring talk, comedy and interviews.

The first episode was released on January 10th 2006 and features Ben May, Mike Beckham and Paul Tevis who dissect the news of the week, with their own very unique take on the hottest stories, with regular segments, sketches and interviews, the show aims to entertain listeners with a variety of different topics every week.

The Ploy also gets a chance to interview prominent and upcoming personalities, who over the years have included three time Gold Logie Award winner Rove McManus (“Rove”, “Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader”, “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno”), Emmy Award Winner Ken Levine (“M*A*S*H”, “Cheers”, “Frasier”, “The Simpsons”), John Melendez (“Howard Stern”, “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno”, “The Jay Leno Show”), Alan Fletcher (“Neighbours”), Kristie Lu Stout (CNN International Anchor), Chantelle Barry (“90210”, “Entourage”) and many others.

Regular segments include a Hollywood News round-up, American Patriots which highlights somebody helping the American cause and ‘The Ploy News’ a satirical news segment focusing on the private lives of the shows personalities.

Over the course of the programs history we have broadcast special episodes such as our 2008 United States Presidential Election series, which received attention from various online sources and our series on the Australian Clean Feed legislation.

Personalities

Ben May

Ben May was born in Maryborough, Queensland in 1988, Ben was born into a semi-rural life with a property full of animals such as Dogs, Chickens, Cows and Turkeys.

May attended Fraser Coast Anglican College and graduated in 2007, where he found his passion for IT and Business. He currently owns a web design business ‘alyte creative‘ in Hervey Bay, Queensland.

May currently resides near Hervey Bay on the south eastern coast of Queensland.

Mike Beckham

Mike Beckham was born in Norwich, England in February of 1990.

He and his family moved to Eastern Victoria in Australia in 1991.

Beckham’s interests include television, radio, comedy, media and politics and brings his passions for the subjects to the program. He is a longtime fan of Late Night Television admiring comedians such as Jay Leno, Conan O’Brien, Rove McManus, David Letterman and Jon Stewart.

Mike got to know Ben in late 2005 and the pair founded ‘The Ploy’ with the first episode released on January 10, 2006.

He now resides on the Bellarine Peninsula in Victoria about 90 minutes from Melbourne and has one dog named Lucy.

Paul Tevis

Paul Tevis was born in the High Desert of California on March 10th, 1989.

Paul currently runs a computer repair business ‘Tevis Web‘ in the High Desert of California.

Tevis created the Leoville Townsquare Podcast in late 2005 where he met Mike who was a co-host on that program. He later created the podcast Political Inversion. The show interviewed many publicly known figures, such as the Westboro Baptist Church and the CEO and President of the Ad Council. Late in 2007, Paul created the show Women Need Us, along with his cousin which ran until he joined The Ploy in June of 2009.

Paul joined the show in 2009 as the third host after contributing to the show since its inception. He has a strong passion for broadcasting and resides in California, just over 90 minutes from Los Angeles.
