The amazingly talented Casey Donovan is Mike’s guest this week. Since winning Australian Idol in 2004, Casey has gone on to win Deadly Awards, perform in the stage musical The Sapphires; both here and overseas and release some wonderful music.
Casey wrote a book about her life since Idol called Big Beautiful and Sexy, which is also the name of one of her singles, which has gone on to become an anthem for bigger women everywhere, including as we find out in Canada. She was a delight to talk to, and has some new music coming out later this year which is worth keeping an eye out for.
You can buy the songs ‘Big Beautiful and Sexy’ and ‘You Believed’ sampled in this episode on iTunes, or buy her book through New Holland Publishers.

We have a jam packed special this week! Paul from Women Need Us hosts this special edition of The Ploy featuring interviews with Kirsty DeVallance and Vincent Giarrusso.
Kirsty DeVallance is a co-founder of ‘A Cast of Thousands‘ a company which casts various reality programs including ‘Project Runway Australia’ and ‘Masterchef’. Mike spoke with her about how the company works and what should someone do if they want to get on Television.
Vincent Giarrusso was part of ARIA award winning group Undergound Lovers who wrote, directed and composed the beautiful AFI Award winning film ‘Mallboy‘. In which its lead Kane McNay won a AFI for his portrayal of Shaun a troubled adolescent. Partly inspired by Giarrruso’s experience in Social Work. Mike asked Vincent how the movie came about and a bit about his work with Underground Lovers.
