The Australian Federal Election is now just days away and Prime Minister Julia Gillard has raised Broadband as an Election issue promising a $43 Billion National Broadband Network (about half of which will not be funded with tax payer dollars). Which has began rolling out and already has users in Tasmania. She promises speeds of up to 1000mb/s, but why are some people against this?
There are plans to build a Islamic Cultural Center featuring a Mosque among other amenities, in Lower Manhattan near Ground Zero, the site of the attacks on New York City in 2001. Some people are outraged over this, despite an existing mosque already in the area. Is this an example insensitivity or an unfair equation between Terrorism and Islam?
